Found ammo in the trash at the range (Correction)

Someone threw a jar of 32 cal ammo in the trash, at the gun club. It looks old, but in like new condition. It was in a funny looking jar, like an old booze jar, with a lid. I thought the old jar looked cool, and picked it up. I opened it and there is about 30 or so rounds in it. I have no use for it, as I don't own a 32. If someone wants it, I will include it in my brass giveaway, later this month. I am thinking about a super bowl giveaway, time period. Oh, and you never know what is going to be included in my giveaways. I usually toss other stuff in[:)]. Oakie

I also forget to add, I found about 50 to 75 nickle cases of 38 super in the brass bucket today, that will also be given away.

Correction on the caliber. This is Remington 32 acp ammo. I had to look with a magnifying glass.. Damn eyes are really getting worse. Anyway, I called pop in Texas and he has one, so the ammo ,he is going to take. Oakie

Somebody probably put it there for a good reason! You would be crazy to try and shoot it.

I find just the opposite. Many people throw stuff away for no reason. If I could determine that the ammo was factory loaded, damn right I'd shoot it.

how would you determine this ?

i have reloaded over 100k rounds, and with new or even fired brass could pass for factory ammo

#1 rule in shooting is NEVER SHOOT ANOTHER MANS RELOADS

i broke that rule once and was lucky my stupidity didnt cost me, a pharmacist i knew gave me 1,000 pieces of .38 special brass and around 500 rounds his dad reloaded before he passed, i figured i would shoot a few slow and see how it went just to have the brass, few down range of swc's and wc's all looked good , i sped up a bit luckily for me one round got lodged right at the forcing cone of my 686 preventing the cylinder from turning to the next round , a inch or two further and i would have had a real issue

guess where the rest went ?

i have learned alot from this forum, often others mistakes and experience

Screwing around with an outdated jar of pickles is one thing, but never with explosive mixtures of powder that can mame you or worse yet somebody else. That is my number one rule also.

Fools putting loaded ammo in the trash has been a problem at our club too. Hell the lazy dopes can't even pick up a dropped new .22.
What if some kids who nightcrawled in got hurt or worse from the rounds???
Of course our club would be blamed and sued.
I do like the w/e warriors who come and leave me all that brand new brass though.

By the same token, your reloads would be suspect also.

i bought some diecast cars off of a guy at a swap meet a few years back.in the bottom of the last box was a box of 32 looks to be from the 80s. just kept it as a conversation thing in the ammo box.
