Wal-Mart Worker Killed by Store Stampede in N.Y.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Police say a Wal-Mart worker has died after being trampled by a throng of unruly shoppers shortly after the Long Island store opened Friday.

Nassau County police say the 34-year-old worker was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 6 a.m., an hour after the store opened. Police also say a 28-year-old pregnant woman was taken to a hospital for observation.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc., in Bentonville, Ark., would not confirm the reports of a stampede during the day-after-Thanksgiving bargain hunting, but said a "medical emergency" caused them to close the store.

youse is a day late and a dollar short.

beneteau posted this same item yesterday (friday). Soon the thread included photos of the mob and now it has gone POOF.

Initially beneteau posted that the woman miscarried, but that was quickly dispelled.

    "Happy Holidays from Wal Mart"?
Just curious as to why it seems you blame Wal Mart for the bad actions of a bunch of "screw you, me first" New England yankee's?

Because WM's marketing strategy is to meet consumer demands for "bargains" which is mostly cheap Chinese junk. Most Americans dont't have enough sense to see this. More, more, more.

Well I would be with you if the topic was ABOUT Wal Marts marketing practices. But it's not. It's about a bunch of A-holes who broke thru the doors and trampled a Wal Mart employee to death.
Wal Mart is not reponsible for the actions of customers who damaged their property and killed their employee in mindless, self centered rush to be first.
IMO they should use the sales receipts and/or security camera's to ID and prosecute every one of those people for manslaughter.

It's Walmart's fault. They should have widened the aisles and installed barriers and law enforcement officers to control the crowd. [:o)]

After having driven in the NE U.S., and from experience on a cruise ship, this isn't surprizing to me at all.
I've never seen such uncourtiuous people as inhabit the NE part of the U.S. Especially New Yorkers.
On the cruise ship they were lots of elderly New Yorkers. And at times things would get crowded. As in before after shows & meals.
Some of the elderly people were slow movers and I would often pause to step out of the way to allow these people to move along. But those New Yorkers would shove on thru w/no consideration for anyone/anything.
