I picked up our bulldog from the vet yesterday morning.....we had her fixed just to avoid this very thing and it has CAUSED complete chaos here!!! I called the vet and he said she was "close" to being in heat when we took her so this will just have to pass. I am about to lock Jack in the car outside!!!! (kidding)

The boys are nuts....The golden retriever and the pomeranian are at each other's throats. Huggy is humping everything that will sit still. Itty bitty wants to kill someone and Purdy is just confused.

I gave Jack a benadryl to try and take the edge off...I don't know if it worked or not??? I took him with me to the bank today. The car ride did some good. I feel more sorry for him than any of the others....he is just miserable.

You can give a millgram of benedryl per pound of dog, until you go to the vet and get something stronger. I have a 100 pd lab that gets 4 benendryl when the gal goes into heat, at least I get 6 hours of sleep before he starts whining. Now I have doggy dope that knocks him on his can the whole night. But I know your pain, I know your pain.

Nooooo....that is not what happened. We had her fixed BEFORE she was supposed to go in heat because we never ever ever wanted to deal with this again!!! That is not what happened though....she came back and something has happened???

I swear....this is horrible. Jack is so whiney it is unbelievable. His bark goes right to the middle of your brain!!!! I keep telling myself I only have to deal with this for a couple more days and then NEVER again.

None of our critters is capable of reproduction, and we like it that way. But, even a neutered male will still get excited over an intact female in heat, and he can even behave shamefully toward her.

I say get your money back since the butchers I mean vets missed [:D]. Or just sue for pain and mental anguish [:D]. And then take the payments in Special K. It's 2012 the end is near and all that jazz.

We might be coming back around to "normal" now. I haven't had to section everyone off into their own areas today. Jack is still a bit nutty, but nowhere NEAR like he was.

They are better....very close to being back to normal now. It was the BARKING that was the very worst of it. Jack has this deep terrific level bark that just makes the walls shake....and that is NOT cool!
