Who here has any TRIPLEX ammo?

Someone came in the store buying ammo for hunting season and complaining about the prices (jumping in price ever so much this year) and he was telling me about something he has "a few boxes of."
Triplex ....he told me about shooting it in various things and how SUPER NASTY it was. From what he told me the bullet is THREE pie shaped peices and is held together by some type of wax. He was telling me how when the bullet hits....the three parts seperate and go in directions that are just insane. This is what he carries in his gun at all times.
I plan on asking him if he will sell me a box.....after looking it up the price may be out of my budget.

I have heard of 2 or 3 slugs stacked in a case, the idea being 3 points of trauma, I don't see how wax could hold togther a bullet?
Link?

This site says it was manufactured in 9mm for a "modified UZI".....

There are more sites, but no real info on the details of the bullet that I can find quickly. Maybe if I search more.

Triplex...hmmmmmmm (the less I know about them the more I want them.)
Nwcid.....none of the links send you to anything regarding triplex ammo. There are lots of fragmenting shells and hydroshock ammo is everywhere, but the ones I am asking about are not for sale....they were "banned" by the powers that be back in the early 80's (I think) and aren't for sale.

LF,
One of your links refers to triplex lamaniated safety glass[:0]
I would like to see what you are refering to, the round you linked to on GB is a experimental round, for a modified firearm, not a production round.
IIRC, it was AP handgun ammo that was banned?

That's a old "triplex" by Greener, the Military also did the Salvo Squeeze Bore (SSB) in a multipal calibers including 9mmPara 7.62x51 and 50 BMG.
The 7.62x51 version

Well that was my best guess since the one ad for standard pistol ammo looks like a normal bullet but "With patented bullet design that splits into 3 segments on impact".
The .22 round show a better pic from the base about them being split. They are not disks, but do break into 3 pie shaped pieces.
Can you get a pic of what he has? Like many other rounds this may be an updated version of what he has.
