I was about this age. I would be sent up to my aunt and uncles ranch every summer. I used to complain about having to drive the tractor all day until my cousin was old enough to drive, 6yrs. Then I complained about stacking 90lb bales of hay, 12yrs.

I think it must have been a good thing for children because of the propgress the nation made and the tough people it produced.

We don't want to see exploitation but when I look at generation Y I have to wonder if the nanny state weenies are trying to go over board with the intent to destroy the country by destorying it's future.

I took my son and the boy from South Korea to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville yesterday......its "odd" to see that everything we celebrate was from the 40's
