I think the M1A is one of those things that its really almost a wash across the whole spectrum as far as how they shoot. I've not had one that was a "bad" gun. The thing about this one is it has the factory box. Its hard to say there is a better version of something when you never hear anything bad about any of them.

(I fully expected someone here to ask me if I still had it and hadn't lost it while this auction was running.) [:D]

Just to satisfy my curiosity, how/when did the the Polytech rifle become Curio and Relic? It is certainly not over 50 years old.

It doesn't qualify as a curio or a relic. Bet ya that's a "faux pas" and Kasey didn't change the template. [;)]

Yep.....ugh.....I didn't see that until JUST NOW (of course)

I've got a new guy that is working for me, Barry, he is awesome. I think he writes every auction by pulling our history and looking for things to just "relist" and this must have been tweaked from something he thought was close to this rifle.

IMO this is one of the pitfalls of calling a firearm by a trademarked name, in this case M1A, when in fact it not. This rifle is an M-14S, and clearly marked as such on the receiver. I'm betting that Barry, who is "assume", also did the write up on the M1 Rifle and since it was a legitimate C&R, he figured that an M1A must be as well.

I'll be interested to hear what happens when the winning bidder wants to use his Type 03 FFL to purchase the rifle and you tell him he can't.

He's already emailing it over. I'm too tired to jump on that bonfire right now. I'll offer to pay the transfer fees for him to his FFL....but that is a battle for tomorrow. These eyeballs are too tired to start messaging back and forth with someone tonight.

I just got my winning bidder emails sent out. I'm about to shut this puppy down! [:D]

I think one of the problems with this one was the invoice that was sent with the guns. I just pulled it to see what was given by the owner of the collection. He's got a description that he had written....Barry followed what he had down and just went with what was on that list. I'm trying to ease Barry into things.....this is a LOT to learn. Each week I pile a few extra little tid bits on him so its not so overwhelming. Barry has done a great job so far. (Plus, he can do things like pull that dang trigger group out of that Garand.....that puppy took a pair of BEAR PAWS to get it to let loose.)
