Kasey looks like a Indian trade gun or ZULU Not real high grade Might have even been a modern KIT gun that someone AGED but I do'nt think anyone would spend the time Make it look old looks like lots of age around the back of the barrel near the lock and hammer That would show up like that from use with out cleaning some of the fittings are very crude

I think it is a German musket, probably brought here for use by the CSA in that unpleasant occurrence we cannot speak of. Probably .72 Cal. Mid 1800s. Looks really good. $1000-1200.

Definitely not a Brown Bess.
The lock is marked "Neifse" which is German.

Sorry to disagree with everybody but that is not some cheap trade gun. That's a high quality musket. I don't remember everything but I have seen a lot of flint and cap locks in my former black powder days.
