I heard it is a new kind of "Bring your ________ to school day"
Kind of like, bring your pet...... or bring your dad.......
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

My Dad designed our high school and I was with him when he laid the cornerstone himself in 1963. Two things that turned me on about that edifice were the catwalks over the stage of the auditorium and the immense basement that was set up as a fallout shelter. Somewhare down there was an indoor rifle range where team members practiced regularly and which was in use for at least the 8 years between 1963 and my graduation. A space was dedicated for a couple years for a "Senior Lounge," where, during my final year, seniors could gamble, smoke and drink on special occasions. The drinking was not officially sanctioned by the school board, and I suppose the gambling wasn't either but smoking was. I think it was my class that got the place hut down after we figured out how to access the deep freeze and stole cartons of ice cream.

35 year reunion is in August, I plan on being there.

I also took my rifle to school, for the ROTC shooting team. It was in the late 70s, and no one really noticed. It wasn't unusual for the older ones in high school to have a rifle in the rack in their pickup. We all know what would happen today.

Back in the mid 80's I walked down the hallway of our local school with a hunting rifle. It was being donated by my father to be raffled off for a school fundraiser. My kids go there now...and one of my classmates is the vice pricipal...several of my classmates are teachers...and if they wanted a gun from me today I know I could deliver it to them via my daughter. It all depends on the school....a little bitty K-12 building where everyone knows everybody...they tend to KNOW just who is and isn't a psychopath.
