Had a close call yesterday. One of mine has been doing poorly and we've been babying him for the last 3 months. He's really been looking good lately and put the weight on. Yesterday he got into something that didn't agree with him. I was moving sprinklers in the field when the wife started hollering at me. I went over just in time to see the horse collapse. His gut looked like a giant balloon. Luckily I've got a friend up the street who's got all the vet's meds and we were able to give him a muscle relaxer then a Tranquilizer so he could pass all the gas he built up. Scary for a while though. How is this gun related? Well he's my best trail horse and I've been hunting off him for years. Oh and someone asked about what good are horses? Try packing a weeks worth of food and gear into a wilderness area for 4-6 guys on your back. Old Abe will handle most of that by himself.
