Since there are NO bids....which I really don't understand!!! Just what is a "fair" price for this one? I was told I am high on a Smith an Wesson, so being under everyone else isn't the key....what is a good price....not rediculous (really would PAY to get it.)

Kasey... begin with a lower starting price...people don't want to jump right in.. the bidding will eventually reach the reserve if you set it at 699...the gun is worth that all day long!!!as I said before. I wouldn't sell it for less...I think you could write a more consise ad.
70 series MkIV colt in rare nickel finish. highlighted by perfect factory coco bollo grips, bright polished sides and brushed frame. collectable condition (in spite of the pictures) rated at 95% FREE VISA or MC

All the other stuff just makes people wonder too much

Cripe if you start em' high put a buy it now up so the buyer doesn't have to wait till the end. Impulse buying works..

One of my customers is DRIVING ME CRAZY!!! In the past few auctions I have had someone who wanted me to end the bidding. I figured starting this one at exactly what I wanted would give people a clue as to what it would take to end the auction. If someone had contacted me I would have ended it for the first bidder. This way I didn't have anyone tyring to get me to sell it for a rediculous offer.....like my "in house guy." He wants me to sell it to him if it doesn't go on line for A LOT....freakin "LESS" @#%&!!!! He is really something else.

    Is the chrome by Colt?

A lot of fine scratches on it.

Better "full gun pictures" might help.

Lower starting price. low or NO reserve and a buy it now. I usually go no reserve and start at 1 cent. I USUALLY get more than I hoped for. Sometimes, i get a little less but it all depends on what you have in it in the first place.
    1. you can't hit a home run everytime. Unless you want to wait for an unspecified period of time.
    2. What do you have in it? and how much do you need to get for it to make a fair profit? Did you get a great deal on it? then sell it for a little less if you want to move it quickly and make a profit.
    3. write the ad like Scott suggests.
Just some thoughts...............I sent an e-mail earlier this evening asking a question........
    Good luck,
    Ed

Just from what I see in the auction and going on what it would sell for around here I would say you are about 200 to 250 high.

I wouldn't take less than $700 for that gun, even if you have to keep relisting it for six months. I think there were only a few thousand series 70 pistols made in nickel finish.

If it doesn't sell I will "simplify" the listing. I was trying to get the point accross to the guy out here. He keeps bringing me guns for trade....and wanting me to count what I would sell the gun for as his trade in price....." if I bring you a Kel tec 9mm and $350 that will be enough right????"

    No

He thinks of the trades as I will eventually get a certain amount...so he thinks as him giving me that amount.....not that I have to make money on his trade. That led to me way over-describing this gun. In hopes that I wouldn't have to deal with him any longer on this one.

Locust, dont feel like the lone ranger about them making you low offers and trades,I listed 5 for sale last week, just cleaning the safe for some new toys, after the first day listed I started getting e-mail wanting me to stop the auction and sell for a lower price than my starting price, refused every offer and sold 3 of my offerings the first week, its worth your price, just have to wait on a buyer looking for what you have.what shocked me the most was that the majority of the people wanting to rip gunbroker and sell off line were dealers doing business here everyday

This guy I am whining about is an "in store" customer....he is a good guy....just tires me out with all of the dealing. Thats why I put it on line...I just wanted a fair price for this one. Not trying to make a fortune on one gun. I was just a bit worried over this one because there was NO interest in it...no e-mails...no offers...nothing. Just a bad feeling because of all of the questions I usually get with every auction.

I think you should donate it to Charity. By the way my middle name is Charity[:D]. Just kidding, it looks great though, I would say between $300 - $400.
