Gun Show Find--.357 Lever

...Found a Puma lever action in .357. Looks as new, without the
safety. $250 isn't too bad at all. Of course, I have to go back
tomorrow to pick it up. I really wanted a 16" barrel but they all seem to have the large loop lever. This one's 20". Should be a good
truck gun...[^]

...I wasn't looking for anything in particular except maybe a Star BM
that was a C&R. Only one I saw was $350! Forget that. Oh well, I came
home happy with what I found.

"I really wanted a 16" barrel but they all seem to have the large loop lever."

Maybe you can find a magazine tube from one of these and cut the barrel down yourself. Reinstalling the front sights would be the hardest part.
I believe I would just live with the 20" tube though. [;)]
It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

...That's the plan. I have enough other irons in the fire to take
on that kind of project for only 4" of barrel.

That's a great gun! All homage to John Browning (everyone prostrates as gong is sounded), since this is simply a copy of the Model 92. Had one in .44 mag once, way too much fun, and am eyeing a shorty in .45 colt.

    Awesome price!

very good deal, I've had my eye out for a 357 or 44 lever action for sometime now, and not seen one in decent shape for under $350

Found one of those (Rossi 357 lever gun) in stainless on the Auction side a year ago.

    Fun shooter.

...38 / .357 is one of the few calibers I reload for, so the ammo
type is wide open, from pooters to fire breathers. It's gonna be
    fun.

Thats a great gun, I have a .45 Colt with octagonal barrell that shoots like a dream. I had the gunsmith take out the funky lever saftey thing and do a trigger job and action job. Slicker than goose crap now. Enjoy your new rifle and shoot it often.

Hi....You might have purchased the 16" barreled Trapper.....then simply replaced the lever with a std. one....it's rather simple to do. I have Trappers in 30-30, 22, 32 Win. Spl, 357 mag, 44 mag, 45 Colt, and 38-55 Win. They are much fun! BT

Why cut her down Dale? She's gonna be a lot more accurate with more punch at longer distance, with that exter 4" of bbl.
