June 6th I go in for a 45 min. procedure, the Doc says it's very safe. Hell they don't even REALLY put you "under", just set-up a nerve block and use a local. One little slit in the skin, peel it back, make a couple more snips and sew you back up! Doc says that I'm a prime candidate for complete success/recovery and I'll be "back to my old self" in 6 weeks, give or take. I've had some time to think this over and now that the 2 oldest are out of the house......................
Should I have this torn tendon in my elbow fixed?[}:)]

Surgery had come a long way from when they simply used a bottle of whisky for local anasthetic and tool-sterilizing (if you were lucky)..
The first part of the thread was my lame-* attempt to "troll" for humor.......I expected that a few folks would at least BEGIN to think I was talking about getting "fixed"[;)] if ya' know what I mean.
No. Tommy John is the procedure where they repair the tendon on the INSIDE of the elbow. I'm getting the "Tennis Elbow" (outside) version.
I used to laugh when I heard someone say their "tennis elbow" was bothering them. NO MORE!
"Significant Tear(s) " is the phrase the Dr. used when we reviewed the MRI images[:(], All I know is, move the wrong way or try to pick up something heavy with your palm down and the term I would use is, "significant Pain!" *LOL*
I've been putting up with this for awhile, actually I think it "tore" about 2 yrs ago, so I'm thinking it's almost GOTTA get better with surgery.
I don't think they got it..[:)]
