Ford stock

Kept reading (last year) about the expectation of Ford stock increasing dramatically in price. Someone in an old thread about this subject stated that Ford stock would be, at least, $20.00 a share by last (2010) summer. Had the stock for well over a year and it has not even been close to $20.00 per share. It is now 34? a share higher than it was in March 2010. Great investment.[:(][:(]

Checked Scottrade this morning and our Ford stock, which we purchased 5 years ago, has averaged a per share increase of 5.8% each year. Beats the heck out of a CD.

    I am pleasantly surprised.

Of the Big Two, I would go with Ford as well. Hard to consider the other US automaker viable as GM a government enterprise.

Keep in mind auto stocks are best if bought and sold around the economic cycle. You bought well now look for a spot to sell well. The country can buy about 18.5 million cars a year. That's about 2 million cars above our current run rate. Im not sure if we will get there but I'll be a seller there if that day comes.

Or if you know a 50 something year old friend who just cant find work for like 2 years, sell Ford when he gets a job.

Not many but my Toyota Motors stock is nearly doubled in value since 2011. [:p]
