Living conditions around the country

I live in southern WV in the hill country. I worked for a small family that I grew up with the sons and we moved heavy equipment used in the coal mining, logging and road construction businesses in the area. I recently started going over the BING Birdseye air photo maps and WHEW, sort of rough terrain. Made me wonder about the working and living conditions in the rest of the USA. How bout it?

Not sure what you mean by working/living conditions. I gave up working several decades ago when I became employed by the state. I went from wrestling around beef carcasses to convincing otherwise adversarial people the virtues of going along with my suggestions. But for five years my work has been of the volunteer type- and has been more rewarding- other than not being costly- trips to South America to build a church, trips to the South Pacific to build a medical care center- primarily for children with birth defects. But those activities are away from home. Living conditions I Washington are great provided you avoid California transplants and other liberals, easily spotted because they drive Subaru stationwagons with Obama 08 & Obama 12 still proudly displayed. For recreation there is hunting and fishing, but the sportsman needs to share the trail and river with "non-blood" co-users of the forest such as rafters and hikers. The main highway is the one route through town, so on Sunday afternoon when all those that live in King County are driving home, the result is a massive traffic jam through the center of town for several hours. But other than the people, the place is fine.

What I was talking about is the differences of living in the coast, desert, swamp and higher mountain areas. I've only lived in the same 2 mile area all my life and worked in the coal regions of WV,VA,KY,PA and OH. SO I'd like to know about the outdoor working activities, roads, utility problems compared to my area. Thanks.

South Florida is FLAT first of all.Their are VERY few East/West highways and only a few N/S highways except I 95.South of me is 90% urban along the E coast.
Their are a LOT of wealthy people living here that hire out EVERYTHING!!
