I fail to see how it remotely solves the problem. The only part you keep is the part that connects all the various blocks. Big whoop. It's a lot like saying "I kept the charging cord for iPhones v1-v4".[:o)]
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

its perfect and simple, but i doubt it will ever see production, it would solve too many problems, that would be like asking a pharmaceutical company to cure cancer

There are practical issues with such an approach.

Form factor, the base does not change. It sets minimum size, minimum weight, perhaps some maximum parameters as well. This limits the evolution of the design, confines it. Consumer electronics that cannot adapt and evolve, die off.

Taking it further - Every time someone has come out with a standard interconnect scheme for a piece of consumer technology, the technology evolves until the interconnect scheme is obsolete. This takes weeks and months, never years.

For those familiar with the innards of the personal computer, think about how many bus schemes there have been? How many video standards? Audio standards? Expansion slot standards? External I/O standards?

The basic platform of this phone idea would have to withstand technology evolution, and it cannot. Nothing ever does. As quickly as the novelty of the idea wears off and new technology becomes incompatible, the basic idea will become obsolete.

Well I certainly appriciate that they saved me the trouble of spelling "blocks". That was a 20% reduction in wasted letters just in the name- Amazing!
