Chalk up another griz attack

The Billings Gazette (www.billingsgazette.com) today reports that a bow hunter in the Cinnamon Creek area of Gallatin Canyon (Montana, north of Yellowstone) got thumped by a griz. He'll be okay, but was bitten on the head. An out-of-stater, I think from Minnesota, he was packing neither a firearm nor bear spray.
Cheez 'n' crackers! Thirty bucks for a can of bear spray! Especially when hunting alone. And in that part of the world, they're sold in grocery stores and gas stations!
Well, as huntin' season gets underway the stats continue to climb.

And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

Apparently, the economy is forcing bears to turn to a life of crime.
Haven't heard anything about them big white bears attacking anyone.
To be fair, I haven't heard of any black bear attacks recently either. [;)]
How does this fit in with the greenies plan??? Forfiet one endangered(to them) species for the sake of another.
IIRC This is in an area where there have been previous attacks. I think we hunted not far from that drainage a few years ago and my friend who's lived in MT for 30 years cautioned us to be careful about the bears.
