has anyone used one of these scopes? what is the eye releif? are you happy with the clarity and optics? i am wanting to put one on my 300 win mag but the thing kicks a little so i need good eye relief. also how does it compare to the burris model? i have one burris scope and have been VERY impressed by it. thanks

If you're talking about the Burris Ballistic Plex, I have a couple of 3x14x42. I never paid much attention to the little hash marks. I think they require too much thinking. They are very good scopes for the money. For whitetails, I just hold on their withers and pull the trigger, out to 250 yds. I'll buy another one when the time comes.
Oh, yeah, eye relief. I had to set both of mine all the way back on the two Ruger 77's.

    too much THINKING?

i guess if counting by 1...it gets hard...especially if you put the sticker on your stock [B)]

i got a laser scope on my 300RUM and have yet to "meet it" [;)]

works great..especially those hard to understand 100yd increment hash marks. (kinda defeats the purpose of getting a ballistic plex reticle if your not going to use it, but they do work)

If you are referring to these ...

    http://www.burrisoptics.com/laserscope.html
    http://www.opticsplanet.net/nikon-laser-irt-rangefinding-4-12x42-riflescope.html
    http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-yardage-pro-4-12x42--laser-rangefinder-rifle-scope-204124.html

A very nice but expensive toy to have. Too many things (esp. the electronic portion) that could go wrong and ruin a hunt of a life time. You'd be better off with a BP (Burris), BDC (Nikon) or B&C (Leupold) reticle scope and match it with a separate range finder. I have a Leupold VIII 4.5-14x40 with B&C and plan on getting a RXB-IV range finding binocs. Another consideration is its operating temperature (~15 to 122 degrees F). Where I hunt, it's around -30 F.

Good luck and happy safe hunting!

as feenix listed, the burris 4-12 laser scope. works good to 500yds ish on "deer sized" targets.

anything farther than that im using my leica 900 rangefinder and shooting my warbird....

feenix - the burris scopes have the "BDC/BC" reticle, they refer to as the ballistic plex.

Spotlighting deer is illegal in this state. Sounds like you're accusing me of being a criminal.
