This nice weather is a major bummer...

I'm down to the last couple days of Elk Season and it's too darn warm to hunt. The meat would spoil before you could get it out of the woods. I think it probably hit 80 degrees today...calling for the mid 70's for the next few days.[:(]

Oh well...there's always late archery season, but you are walking through 3' of snow by then.

    adjust,adapt, overcome.
Plan to pack out meat quickly. Have help on stand-by. Whatever it takes. Get out there and get one. The animals are still out there, they live there. It's the hunter the weather becomes inconvienent to.

Wow, I sounded good eh? [:D][:D] We got the same going on here, record and near record highs. The animals are still there but bedded down next to the river in the tree lines or way the heck high where its cooler. Need to air drop onto them.

The animals are still there...my only concern is getting the meat out before it spoils...it doesn't take long at all in these temps.

Friend of mine in Wyoming said it was 82 the other day,but he says the Wolves and Griz have been very bad on the Elk numbers for a few years. He sent a picture of a Bison that had been worked over by a Griz, was not a pretty site.

Did you by chance read the OP?

It will be here soon enough, believe you me.[:D][;)] The one time of the year I actually anticipate snow; rifle season.[8D]
