New to Forum, With Question about trading

As a "newbie" to the forum and to Gun Broker.com I have a question about Trading. I have a couple of collectable revolvers and would like to find someone that was interested in trading for a 357 that I would like ro have for personal protection. How do you do this, I see several warnings not to list items for trade. Is there a special page or category for trades? I do not want to anger the "Gun God's" or get in trouble my first day on the site. thanks,

Owl

List them for sale and in the text state the you would be willing to trade and what you are looking for. Worst case you do not sell or trade. Best case you get what you want. My 2 cents and welcome to GB [8D]

Auction them outright then buy what you want. Trades can get complicated anyway.

The problem with trading is having everyone involved agree on condition, values, etc. Hard to do at anytime and especially when not dealing face to face. Internet dealing really doesn't lend itself to trades.

The problem with trading as far as the site goes is how do they make money off trades? This is a business and they only make money off sales.

I agree that it's usually best to sell what you have and then buy what you want. But if you are determined to try to swap you might try the classifieds at www.smith-wessonforum.com or www.coltforum.com depending on what you have and what you want. These are discussion forums with classifed sections that don't generate revenue for the owners so swapping is allowed if you want to try.

    BTW- You in Arkansas?

when I take trades I assign them a cash value. a person calls me says I have a ..... I say its worth XXX. he says ok and that portion of the winning bid is covered so the gun he wants is bid to $1000 the trade is given a value of $1.69 he sends me the gun and $998.31 GB gets their commission on the full sale price and everyone is happy.
