My brother who served 2yrs in Iraq and 1.5 yrs in Afghanistan w/ the 19thSF
and has been working for BW in Iraq for 3yrs now
has return home from Iraq Thursday for a 30day leave and was struck by a harsh case of pneumonia Saturday. on Monday they had to put him into a drug induced coma so that they could place him on a breathing machine
Please keep him and all others working and serving our country in your thoughts and prayers
thanks
His condition has worsened, they are moving him into a proning bed to help keep the fluid from setting up. last night his right lung was completely full. overnight it had moved into his left lung prompting the proning bed,
His condition hasn't worsened nor has it improved since this morning, It is hard for me to get many details as I am in Colorado and he is in Utah. Doctors say he will be in the hospital sedated and on a ventilator for minimum 2wks,
Thanks again for the prayers and thoughts keep'em coming he has a long road to recovery
6/19 today he is breathing mostly on his own. the vent is still providing 35% of his bodies O2. BP has stabilized and the fever has come down from 105 to 101. thanks again for your prayers
6/22 they took him off the proning bed yesterday, he is making progress although it baby steps at least they are in the right direction. he will be on the ventilator until Tuesday when they hope to take him off it and start to bring him out of sedation. They have found a bacteria in his lungs that they cannot identify, most likely pick it up in Iraq. they are treating his wife with some precautionary anti biotic's. as he had no symptoms of being sick up until Friday night when she took him to the ER. He will remain in the hospital for the next 1 to 2 wks then will have 2-4 wks of respitory rehabilitation
Once again thank you all and keep them coming
