An honest man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy boulevard.
Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him.

He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman hit the roof, and the horn, screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection, dropping her cell phone and makeup.
As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer.
The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up.

He took her to the police station where she was searched, finger printed, photographed, and placed in a holding cel l.

After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door.
She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects. He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him.

"I noticed the 'Choose Life' license plate holder, the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday-School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian Fish emblem on the trunk.
Naturally... I assumed you had stolen the car."

. Priceless.[:D] [:D]

Prozac for type A personalities would make our society dull and boreing. Then all we would have is an endless stream of Blond jokes.

    No thread jack but here...

I was doing 50-55 in a 40mhp zone one day when a crazy woman in a civic came up just feet from my bumper. All in a hurry, cell phone in one hand, leaning up over the wheel to scream at me thru the windshield and closed windows like it would make me go faster. Then the fingers started flying. Naturally I did the right thing and slowed to 40 with a no passing zone for miles. I noticed two little heads stretching from the rear carseats to see what was going on, they musta heard a ear full....
Where was she in a rush to go... Liberty Christian Academy and Daycare... who woulda thunk !

I don't know, wouldn't you be afraid to stop for a red light as the tailgaters would slam into you as they want to go through also?

How would you feel if she had been taking one of those little heads to the ER on account of being poisoned and you were the reason she didn't make it in time?
Had it been a child of mine, you would have been hunted down and murdered.

Why do jerks insist on being impediments to traffic when someone may be on an emergency run. If you really wanted to do the right thing, you would have allowed her to pass.

Are you just none too bright or what? Couldn't YOU beat an ambulance that has to come to get you first before going to the hospital that you would be going to?
Unless someone intentionally slows you down.

Perhaps you do dial 911, but some of us don't. I prefer to take action rather than waiting for someone to come bail me out.

Maybe if she was in a hurry to get somwhere like an ER she could of hit the horn or lights, not the finger. Maybe you didn't read that.

Hunt me down and murder me... you couldn't hunt down my nuts.

I think you did the right thing endlss. Actually I think that you should be given an award. I look at it as you protecting those children and giving the woman a lesson on what happens when you forget that you are part of a civilized society. Anyone who thinks differently may,or may not, be a nazi.

I pull that on anybody. If I'm going over the limit and you can't get around, I'll slow to make it easier on you. It's up to them to take the chances.
I'll slow even more as to not splash their blood or somebody's innocent blood all over my truck at the accident scene down the road.

My statement back to you earlier, I shouldn't of said it. This is only the internet.

No problem. About three years ago, the futility of getting angry over the internet occured to me. Do consider though that people tend to get a one track mind when involved in an emergency. Rushing a loved one to an ER would get fingers, lights, horn, gunbarrels, unsafe passing, anything to get a clear highway. Since you never know for certain what a person's motive is, best to suspend the ego for a moment and let them pass.

Hey, we did 3000 miles in Florida this winter. If you want to see rude and agressive, that's the place. Over 20 motorcyclists were killed in Daytona during bike week. They didn't have time enough to get used to it.

I agree with rogue. I've written tickets to motorists for going UNDER the speed limit, too! I generally inform them that it is not their job to regulate the safe flow of traffic, it's mine. If they have a problem with another driver, call me and let me take care of it. Glad nobody got hurt in your instance. I've seen that, too.

Then I'm sure you will wait for an ambulance should you ever have an emergency. After YOU dial 911.

well, if I decided to take my kids to the ER, I would at least have the Emergency blinkers on. I sure wouldn't be talking on the cell phone nor would "fingers be flying".

If you think going the speed limit is impeding traffic then perhaps YOU are none too bright.

If she HAD to pass due to an emergency, then him slowing to the speed limit is the way to LET her pass. What should he have done to a tailgater? Speed up to over what he was already speeding?? Pull over to the side of the road? Slam on the brakes?? He did the right thing.

Get off your soap box, we all know you would have done the same thing he did.

Don't insult me please, because I didn't insult you.

No soap box to it. You wrote something showing lack of common sense and now you write showing even more lack of common sense. You have no clue as to what I would have done except by what I tell you. Do not presume you know me for you do not. If I call 911, it's to have the ER prepared or for the fire department.
