Since school shootings seem to be all the rage among members of our society these days, I thought I'd start a special thread so we can keep track of them all.
[:(!]Shooting #1:
CAZENOVIA, Wis. - A student walked into a rural school with a gun today and shot the principal several times, authorities said. A suspect was taken into custody and all the children were reported safe.
Principal John Klang's condition was not immediately known, Sauk County sheriff's Capt. Michael Haifemann said.
The student walked into the school at about 8 a.m. and shots were fired as people tried to get him under control, Melissa Nigh, dean of students at Weston School, said in an interview broadcast on MSNBC.
The K-12 school was locked down this morning, officials said.
"All the children in the school were safe and none were harmed," Haifemann said.
Cazenovia is a community of about 300 people about 60 miles northwest of Madison.

Bad taste.
Maybe, but I thought it would open a discussion on the subject. It seems school shootings have increased over the last few years. Why? Is it seen as a way to go out in a blaze of glory like the Columbine suspects? I know we can't eliminate this phenomenon 100%, but what do you see as a way of stopping this? Bigger ISDs have police forces, but what about the small rural ISDs that can't afford to put police officers in schools.
