As for me: I'm not buying any Mexican stuff. I still have all my Stop Illegal Immigration stuff on display. And I'm thinking of flying my flag upsidedown again (I did this monday too).
I will probly write more letters to my elected officials today as well.
We need to keep the fight alive!

Wish I could trade places with you. This perm disability is driving me nuts. After working full time for 25 years (and the last 15 years of it I worked 70 hrs every week) I am now board not having my job to go to. The first 6mo was nice but after that its like being put into a prison cell. I get out and do my hunting & fishing and such but really miss moving that truck up and down the highway.

    Well, lessee...

I was thinking of buying little Mexican flags - you know, like the little American flags that people wave around at parades - and using them for toilet paper.

Cinco de Mayo is a fairly "dangerous" situation in Denver. The LEOs shut down the streets between Federal and Sheridan so that the "celebration" (read: lots of drinking and cruising in cars up and down the street for hours on end) can be safe and without incident.

It should be interesting to see how many Mexicans shoot themselves. I don't recall a single year where the celebration hasn't gotten out of hand, which is why the LEOs do what they can to contain it.

What's interesting, however, is that Cinco de Mayo is a much bigger deal here in the US than it is in Mexico.

Mexican Independence Day is September 16th.

May 5th celebrates the defeat of the French, in 1862, at Puebla.[:D]

Too late, the Canadian border and immigration system has been long ready. Unlike the US, Canada deports illegals regardless of nationality or circumsatnces. [;)]

There are many stories related to the sinking of the "Titanic". Some have
just come to light due to the success of the recent movie.
For example, most people don't know that back in 1912 Hellman's
mayonnaise was manufactured in England. The "Titanic" was carrying
12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico

which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after New York City.

The Mexican people were eagerly awaiting delivery and were disconsolate
at the loss. So much so that they declared a national day of mourning
    which they still observe today.
It is known, of course, as............ Sinko de Mayo !

The party starts at 6 PM so I still have some time. St. Patrick's Day from the Irish, Octoberfest from the Germans and Cinco De Mayo from the Mexicans. All provide an excellent excuse to eat lots of food and drink massive amounts of beer. I intend to kill a 12 pack of Pacifico myself[:p] this evening along with eating several homemade tamales and tacos.

I ate about six whole devilled eggs for lunch. On the way home from work, I stopped at the local hispanic market and blew out my intestinal gas in the store. Went back out to the truck and watched the results!

The store cleared out in less than 2 minutes!!![:D][:D][:D]

I had a very good day!!![;)]

It says a lot about Mexican military prowess that they *celebrate* beating the french . . . everyone else takes it as a given and moves on.

WHAT A PARTY![:D]. The last time I was over at my neighbor's house he had not finished with the backyard but now the pool is in (it was too cold for swimming this evening but the hot tub was popular), the new patio and patio cover look fantastic and his new $3500 Grand Turbo 8 burner, 52" SS gas grill was a sight to behold. The food just kept on coming and although his wife prepared some wondeful Mexican foods, we were much more interested in putting that new gas grill through it's paces and the rib-eyes were perfection. I live in a gated community so everyone who lives here knows everyone else and it makes for some fine parties throughout the year, but it also gives my wife a chance to see all of the remodeling that has been going on in the neighbors homes and Mrs. K tends to get ideas ($$$).

What I find strange is that here in Austin, there's a clebration going on somewhere downtown for Cinco de Mayo that lasts from May 4-7. If I recall correctly, we only celebrate July 4th on July 4th, and don't have extended celebrations set up for it. Does this seem strange to anyone else?

Hello in Austin, It's the *New Amerika* thing if you will. The mexicans deserve more than just "ONE" silly day of false celebration, don't you agree ??? After all, most still are mexican nationals or the recent green carded *NEW AMERIKANS* that we see in our streets. ARE THE MEXICANS STILL CLAIMING THAT THEY BEAT THE FRENCH ??? OH MY GOD !!! THE UNITED STATES PUBLIC IS TOLD MORE LIES YET AGAIN !!! IF the "TRUTH" BE KNOWN, THE FRENCH BEAT THE SH!$$ OUT OF THOSE POOR CORRUPT MEXICAN SOLDIERS. THEIR MILITARY HISTORY WAS REWRITTEN IN ORDER FOR THEM TO CELEBRATE THAT FALSE HOLIDAY HERE IN THE UNITED STATES.. SO SAD. SO VERY SAD,THAT IT'S COME TO THIS. NOW THIS IS THE TRUTH.
