This has been ongoing for years. There are two of these crosses. One on Mt Helix, and the other on Mt Solidad. When this first started both pieces of property were transfered to private parties to get around these lawsuits. As the properties were property donated to the public, with the crosses, by differant indivials decades ago.

I have been seeing this thing go on for years. While I am a strong beliver of the seperatio of church and stste, this is just a case of an $&^* wanting to sue because he can. Those crosses have been the a heck of a long time. It reminds me of when the Taliban blew up those statues of Buddah because they didn't match their world view.
The judge (rightly or wrongly you decide) ruled that the attempted sale of a small part of the property beneath the cross was an obvious ploy. It needs to truly be moved to private land to remain up.
I was thinking about this. If the courts are ruling that ANY religious symbol on public property is forbidden, and atheists believe in no God and no religious symbols, then wouldn't a total lack of religious symbols therefore symbolize atheism? The symbol of the atheist belief system is no symbols so every courthouse and publically owned property in America with no religious symbols is actually displaying the atheist symbol, no? Somebdoy call a lawyer!
