Thinking about my upcoming $150,000 to $200,000 neck surgery got me thinking about high dollar gun toys NEEDS.

After my recovery (God willing), my "must have" list will have one item on it. A night vision scope able to see about 100 yards so I can hunt coyotes and feral hogs at night. Not sure what to get but I'll have PLENTY of time to research the kind and brand to drool over. [:D]

What is on your list?

I would look at a Thermal Scope.

If you want to go passive night vision I think I would get a PVS 14 and a Laser. With the PVS 14 you can mount it on a rifle or wear it on you head like a NVG. If you wear it on your head you use the laser to aim your weapon.

I am thinking about night vision for coyote hunting to since they now allow us to hunt at night for them. 25 caliber and smaller in the day and shotgun at night. We are friggen loaded with coyotes here in south jersey. People acted shocked until all their farm animals and pets started getting killed and disappearing with tracks all around. I see more coyotes than deer and small game here anymore. Turkeys we do have an abundance but they are falling victim to the yote too. Killed seven last year without even hunting for them. Shot three during bow and four during deer week. Deer are like ghost here anymore. Were hunting shadows at this point.[:(!][:(!][:(!][:(!]

Bruce, how far are you from upstate, Central Pennsylvania???? I would love to have you as a guest to go do some shooting, hunting and hang out for a weekend at my place. Let me know if you would be interested in the drive this fall. Chris Streett is a great guy and someone I think you would love to meet. He has a place up there too. OakieOakie

Seeing a knee specialist this Thursday.
May be looking at a replacement this time.
So if I could have a next on my list, always wanted a Winchester 64 Deluxe in 30-30. But looking at the Mossberg 464 pistol grip as more possible. If I can sell something first.[:p]
Best of luck with your surgery.

Not far, I can run OH 7 up to Stubbenville and hit 11 North to pick up just about any road in PA heading where I need to go. I used to travel up that way all the time going to stamping plants and visiting my friend Mrbruce in Frewsburg NY. I like traveling PA except for Pittsburgh, that place sucks.

I remember an Aunt of mine had a 56 (I think. Could have been a 55) Star Chief, green and white 2 door hardtop. I thought it was the most beautiful car made. I especially liked the hood ornament with the amber piece, seems it was lit maybe? I was 10 years old at the time. She sold it in 1967, it only had about 45000 miles on it. I was sick I couldn't buy it.

Bruce, it's an easy drive from Rt 11, right after you come through Shamokin Dam bear right toward Northumberland cross the river then turn north on 147,(watch the speed limit 25-and they mean it- in Northumberland). Stay on 147 as it turns into I-180 then exit to 405 (Hughesville, Picture Rocks, etc) then left on 220, stay on 220 through Laporte and you're there. Oakie is across the way in the North Mountain area.
