So far we have wind gusts of about 10-20 mph. Power has flickered 2 times most likely trees rubbing the lines.
Barometer is dropping
Some rain Very overcast.
The weather guessers are spewing gloom and doom and it is effecting people.
From what I have see there is a big storm surge along the coast so all the people who have beach houses will be effected.
The Nuese and Cape Fear rivers are high and at flood stage so there is flooding along their banks.
Here are some webcams along the shore:

Lots of folks are probably disappointed it wasn't a category 6. Yep, it was so YUGE a new category was to be assigned. Must have fizzled out? or was it never to be,, just like Cliton.[:D]
It is early yet.
I fear there is going to be some really bad flooding along the coast due to storm surge and rain fall. I also believe the areas near the Rivers are going to flood too.
Just a guess, but I'm assuming that, for several reasons, you picked high ground for your home place.
I am on the 3rd highest ground in Wake County[;)]
But I am 2 Miles from a big lake that was formed when the dammed up the Neuse River.
My only concern is a tree breaking or up rooting and damaging the house, or this thing spinning off tornadoes/micro bursts which are very dangerous.
I am about 100% certain we will lose power tonight or Sat when the winds get up to 50 mph or so.
Trump bullied Florence into downgrading. This proves he is against women.
(Lol, Triple Canopy just sent me another job posting. Don't they know I dislike hot weather and sandy places?)
Whatever may come, you've got it covered I know. You're too old a dog not to have plans in place.

LOL
I don't mind the weather so much as I mind the people.
I would rather work with Africans than Arabs and muslims.
Well the power is flickering again[V]
I sure hope I get another 20hrs or so before I have to burn fuel in the Generator. I have about 450gal of Propane but man refilling it will be expensive.
Hang on to that fuel as long as ya can. If the grid gets really jacked up you could be in for the long haul. Any chance ya have a smaller gen set just to run the well pump, refrigerator and a some lights? Keep the propane in reserve?
I hate to politicize a storm but I can imagine there are a lot of DJT haters who would like to see this storm destroy a city and then blame him for any failure. When in reality it is really on the State Government and we have a Democrat as Governor.

Yup my bet would be the dems and libs are highly disappionted florence wasn't a cat 10+ hurricane. That way they could blame Trump for allowing it to happen and not doing enough during the after-math...Pretty sick when these "people" wish for people to die and billions in destruction just to persue their political agenda.[xx(]
running the generator.
Duke Power said its a tree down and transformer blown.
Not much wind or rain so far.
Flash flood warnings and they have said the Lumber and Cape Fear rivers are going to flood. If you live within a mile of them evac to high ground.
I've done my time/paid my dues with the urban "fake" Africans in this country, can't say I'm much of a fan of that demographic. At this stage of my life, regardless of the pay scale, I'm not certain I have the patience (or temperament) to deal with the indigenous population of Kuwait or anywhere else over there. Ending up as the subject of any more evening news stories really doesn't hold much appeal for me. (Besides, I have enough holes in me I wasn't born with. Not looking for any 7.62x39's to upgrade the collection.)

I've been thinking about buying a smaller generator for nighttime operations..lower noise profile and less wattage needed.
I ran my Generator 3 hrs and off for 2 hrs. No Problems it ran the whole house and didn't burn much Propane at all. My Generator runs the whole house it like regular power.
Its a 25hp 2 cylinder powered by Propane and turning a 13.5KW Generator. When the AC cuts on it chokes down a little but thats it.
We are in for a bunch of rain. My rain gauge says 5" right now.
They are issuing a mandatory evac of everyone within 1 mile of the Cape Fear and Lumber Rivers.
Fayetteville and Lumberton are going to get hammered with rain.
So far we are fine. I hope Ricci is doing OK
84Bravo, are you doing ok so far?
