removing wheels on street bikes

I learned a new trick that you all probably already know so I am relaying this to that one possible person who stuggles with jacks.
I am getting new rubber on my SV and there is absolutly no jack points on the bottom of the bike.

I was able to easily lift both wheels off the ground securly with ratchet tie downs thrown over my rafters and ratcheted my bike off the ground.
No worries about a tipped over bike or searching for a non existant jacking point.
I used two ratchet tie downs on each end for insurance.[^][:)]

You didn't ask. My old street bike performance shop had bikes hanging from the rafters in the work area. If you use the handlebars and rear frame, you can remove everything up to the frame and bar/trees.

It's the only way to work.

Now, if you want a suggestion for changing tires/wheels at the race track....(most racers have front and rear wheel stands that use the forks and swing arm to lift the bike - unless you are a pro and have a special lift which we don't). Build a small wooden platform out of 2 x 6 that lifts the wheel and centers the axle and forks. It's a pain for a one man crew to swap wheels solo, but this works like a charm.
