So close and yet...22LR ammo

Got to wondering the other day if the country just south of Detroit had any 22lr ammo 'in stock' and what the price was.

Plenty to be had (if you're Canadian). We're talking 1000s of rounds in one gun shop. Price is 35 Canadian per brick (34.43 DUS).

The rub? A CAFC 909 form is needed along w/ it's $25 fee to allow a US citizen to buy 'hunting' ammo in Canada. Then, once it's purchased, it can't be brought back into the US of A w/o involving the BATFE and 'importing' it through a FFL. So much for my bright idea and NAFTA.

    ice;

If you're around Detroit and in need of .22's, I can help a bit there.

I've got a BIL heading that way around 4/4 or so, and I've got plenty of .22's here.

You want/need a couple bricks, I'll try to connect the two of you at my cost for the shells.

Around $25-$28+, give or take, depending on which you want.

The offer will be off the table soon, I don't like to play games or hang around.

I like the way you think ice!
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

If you get stopped at the border crossing with it, do they let you expend it there? I'm thinking business oportunity! Open a shooting range near the border crossing. If I set the berms a little low, it can be a dual purpose for reigning in the problem of illegals!

The interesting and sad bit for Canadians is that they have to have a specific permit to buy specific ammo (from what I've read).

I'm confident that US Customs would take a dim view on a Canadian 'importing' ammunition unless if was for 'hunting' and in that case they'd better have a Non-resident license, which is close to 4.5 times more expensive than a resident license.
