We need to expand VA benefits, big time.

This is one of the worst things we can do. We already have a problem with not treating our soldiers well. Once they've done their job, we just forget about them and make them jump through hoops to get care for service connected disabilities...I know this from personal experience. I was up at the VA hospital this morning, as a matter of fact.

Heck no, they need these monies to pave the way for the criminals pouring in.

I was medically retired last year because I broke my back. It has gotten much, much worse since I got out. I saw a VA Comp and Claims doctor in Wilkes Barre, PA. He was from Asia and barely spoke English. He said all I needed was tylenol without even looking at my records or the fact I was medically retired. The VA here on Guam has no capability to do anything. On Guam they must get everything approved by the Hawaii VA. There are no surgeons here to fix me.

I'm going to get fixed by the Army in Hawaii soon...I just need a new MRI. VA won't pay for a MRI here. Matter of fact the VA doctor is on vacation and I can't see him until the middle of June.

If there is anyone out there that can explain exactly what benefit there is with a VA...I'd like to hear it.

For all I care they can shut down all VA hospitals and just pay out disability payments. Seems they can't do anything else anyways.

There is ONE good VA facility. It's in the Phillipines. I hear many, many good things about that place.

Well give the G.O.P. one more chance to help you by voting them in for one more term.Do you think with 50,000 or better claims coming in you'll have a better chance of being taken care of? Hang in there.

if your dealing with the VA it is best to use a provate attorney rather than a service org like the DAV or Am.Legion in my experience.

    KENNETH M.CARPENTER, ESQ.
    CARPENTER CHARTERED
    1525 S.W. TOPEKA BOULEVARD
    P. O. BOX 2099
    TOPEKA, KANSAS 66601-2099
    TELEPHONE: (913)357-5251
    FAX: (913)357-4902

or you can try the v.a. webpage of private attorneys.

Instead of cutting the VA how about cutting congressional benifits and sticking it into the VA fund? Why should a congressman get more pension a year for serving a term or two than the average person earns in ten years? A large percentage are already wealthy before taking office.

The problem is...only they can cut their pensions...it ain't gonna happen.

...they bite, another bs government ran dept, never funded properly.
Best thing to do is wash your hands of them, every chance possible, and handle your affairs thru other means, way less stress, and aggrevation...sorry, hope things get better for you Red...[;)]

    Good news!!

The VA is paying for my MRI next week for my back injury I got while on Active Duty. WOW!

I was going to have to pay $500, half of the MRI cost under Tricare.
