I want to change the default search engine. It comes up using Ask, I want to use Bing. How do I permanently get rid of ASK and set Bing as the search engine.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

You probably got that damned ASK toolbar the last time you ran a Java update. There was an opt-out checkbox for it that you missed seeing (hidden in small print by those boogers.)

Follow the link provided above; then deactivate and remove the toolbar or it will keep making Ask your default search engine.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Yep their is almost ALWAYS a "CUSTOM" option that is not "recommended".
There is where you'll find the opt-out box,to not add another stinkin' tool bar..

    I wouldn't use either.

If you use www.duckduckgo.com it won't track your searches and show you results based on your past searches.
