an indoor bow range. ive got this 20k square foot building that has bingo in the front 10k 5 days a week. just kicking around ideas on the back warehouse type space and lot.

i dont shoot bows, but i know some are fanatical about it. the indoor pistol range around the corner seems to be doing better since new owners took over. could heat and cool it. i dunno if there would be enough interest tho.

The thing about bow shooting is it can be done in a back yard where shooting firearms would be restricted. Firearms for the most part need to be fired at ranges in the urban areas. I am not sure people would pay to shoot a bow indoors, unless they lived in apartments.

You would need to have at least 20 yards, range line to target. Big Block targets cost $$$. 10 lanes with 3 foot spacing. Host 5 spot and Vegas style leagues.

I am guessing that there are quite a few bow hunters in your area of East Texas so there probably would be some interest. The problems come down to time and money. I am also betting that as MVP said; most of these guys can practice in their own backyards and won't pay to shoot indoors unless they can do it during off hours, at night or unless you offer some sort of animal shaped moving targets (which are probably very pricey to have installed). Liability insurance may well squash the entire project and I'd be looking at this first.

Some years ago, I helped someone design an electronic target for bow and arrow range. He never could make a go of it due to low interest in indoor bow shooting. But it may be different now.

could get 30 yards, i am very aware of the bs involved, liability wise. reactive targets and such, little pro shop.

im still recovering from getting this bingo going in 85 days from closing. prolly dont want to tackle another project for a while.

I think it is a great Idea. We had something like that here years ago and it did fantastic. It closed because the owner died. That place was always packed and you had to wait in line to shoot. He had leagues and sold all kinds of bow hunting and target shooting stuff. Wish I lived near you, I would invest in something like that.
