Chestnut Beer

I have made a lot of beer. I make a really good English Bitter, and also a delicious stout.
This is why my brother came to me with a problem. He loves a good beer, but he is allergic to barley. He hasn't had a beer in fifteen years.
He found a guy in Oregon who grows chestnuts. His farm is surrounded by a desert, and he can grow the American chestnut without the blight killing the trees.
This guy has developed a recipe for chestnut beer. My brother asked me to make him a batch. He bought seven pounds of chestnut chips from Oregon.
I brewed up the batch on Saturday. You substitute the chestnuts for the barley. Then, I added 1 quart of sorghum, 1 pound of Belgian dark rock sugar, and 2 1/3 pounds of corn sugar. Also hops.
I doubt it will be very good, but at least it is 6.7 percent alcohol.
