lurking is a little appreciated art form....and exposes one to less criticism, spelling cop raids, and the sadly expanding blanket of POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.....and limits the senders ability to express irrelevant and unappreciated viewpoints....remember...don't post while drinking...it helps prevent forest fires

If you're a lurker (i.e., someone who reads a lot, but rarely posts), chime in.
I've been lurking a lot the last couple weeks. Been too busy to get involved with the posting.
Does it take you a lot more time to post?
Generally speaking, I only get about 4 or 5 hours a day to do what I used to have 12+ hours a day to get done. Gunbroker has had to take a back seat. I'm usually only actively looking at it for maybe 30 minutes a day, and it's not always consecutive. Sometimes I only have enough time to read through one or two threads before I have to move on to other things.
KEVD, if you don't like the administration's choice in moderating staff, you are just as free to leave as you were to join. Remember that one little line in the posting guidelines that says something about complaints about the administrative or moderating staff being lockable/deletable offenses.
Member since October 1999, average posts per day .90.
Does that qualify me as a lurker, looker, lunker, or just plain lazy?
[:X]
I prefer to think that I only contribute intelligent and pithy comments, except that time I had a little too much liquor and painkiller in my system. Not sure what I posted that night. [:0]
OK, I'll bite. Been lurking for several years, not sure I've ever posted on the forum, if I have it's been a while. I really enjoy reading and learning things here. I always get a laugh. At the present time, I'm deployed to Afghanistan. I actually have more time to mess on the internet than at home. I also bought a bunch on the auction side while I've been here. I'm pretty sure my wife would just as soon I not vist the auction side!

Have been a member since 6/2000 with .03 post per day. I'm here at least three times a day. Daddy always taught me to keep my mouth shut and let everyone think I was stupid rather than opening it and proving it. [:)][:D][;)][:o)][:0]
I read almost all postings but don't really post a lot.
By reading other's posts and not saying a lot I think I can/
could often identify the poster w/out looking at the posters
name just by reading the post.
Most posters are honest and up front, a couple are rather caustic and tend to
have the "Big I - Little u" idea where others opinions are concerned but thankfully, they are in the minority.
I enjoy all (Well Almost) all the people posting here but the time I spend here reading the stuff/drama going
on in that small Ala. town staring a lady with a yellow Camaro make it all worthwhile. [:D]
Guess it takes all kinds to make a forum interesting and to keep
ideas and topics flowing.
There should be a lurker tax. I mean, I'm sharing my wonderful sense of humor (or lack thereof) with you guys, and you don't even show any appreciation. [V][V][:D][:D]
On a serious note, seems a bit strange, that when I make a comment, I have an expectation/mental concept of the size of the audience. Now, I'm to learn, that half of the world is reading what I wrote, and thinking: "what a freakin' idiot."
Anyway, I'm glad to see that GB's forums have a large following. For awhile there, I thought that there were about three of us left, and I was kind of worried. [:D]
But, a good thing: since you guys are quiet, you don't have to worry about Papa-Bear. [:D]
This is a cool thread, and I'm it was started. [^]
I didn't reply for almost 6 months and nobody noticed. Usually I do because something said kinda pizzed me off. I shouldn't let that happen. I confess I am guilty of that sometimes. I blame it on old age and health problems along with constant pain. Mostly what I say is ignored anyhow, so I'll go away again since I can't seem to contribute anything useful.
Thank you all for giving me something to help pass the time when I am unable to do much else.

You might not have been missed much when you were absent, but you're appreciated when you're here.

You have to find a way to stand out from the crowd. Alas, EMCS appears to have done this better than anyone to date!! [}:)]
Its a forest/tree thing. When you have a forest and one tree disappears it is not missed. Have one tree that stands 20 feet higher than all the others and will be seen as gone the minute it vanishes.

Average of .05 posts per day over the last 5 or 6 years, and it's doubtful most anyone knows who I am, has ever read one of my posts, or gives a rat's *$$ anyway. Does that count?

You are out of line, threatening someone like that for absolutely zero cause. He made no complaint about you.

I lurked for several years, until the last year, and I am sure my post count has went up since I retired for the job I had. Also a member since 2001 and about 9 of those years was on dail-up, five minutes to load a page sometimes, especially when members had a lot of pictures attracted to their post.

Member since 2004. .29 posts per day, I guess I qualify as a lurker. Not long ago I was accused of being a noob by someone who joined in 2008 but has 26000+ post count. Maybe I have better ways to spend my time............
