Pentagon cuts cooked breakfast for some troops in Afghanistan
This has me more fired up than anything in recent years. If there is a reasonable excuse for it I'd like to hear it.
I know there are situations in some times and places when it isn't possible to serve a decent meal to the troops, but when it's part of the plan, it's unnecessary, uncalled for and intolerable.

And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
They could all be fed for months just taking one meal away from Chris Christie.

Good ole Chris 'Krispy Kreme' Christie,.....what a hog.[xx(]
This has nothing to do with Budget. Its normal Practice as Support troops leave 1st. One of the 1st to go would be the cooks.
It looks more like weak and ineffective leadership and management to me.
If that was ever standard procedure, the Navy and Marine Corps managed to keep me from finding out about it since April of 1961, and I've served in some pretty out of the way places. As I said before, there are times when you can't feed the troops, but it's NEVER part of the plan.
Do not know how many times I've had that done to me and I was not even overseas.

Except US Military cooks haven't actually cooked a meal since about 2007... It's all done by local nationals being employed by civilian contractors now.

while serving bagels or bacon?
I supported a smaller base and I know for a fact they had hot chow for dinner only for 15 months
