I have an old Ruger MKII that I reblued several years ago, but is in dire need again. I believe this time I will leave it to the pro's, and am looking for recommendations.

ScottM said in an earlier thread:

if the gun is worn badley but you want it restored send it to arts gunshop in arnold MO. His prices are fair and his work is excellent he worked for browning many years and knows his stuff

Scott, does he only do Brownings? And, being in MO. also, does he do rebluing?

Any recommendations from others also appreciated.

arts is pretty specialized for browning (he can even redo polished out stampings and engraving) but I would send the ruger to someone who specializes in them

Why not send it back to the company for rebluing?...We had one a customer wanted done, total cost was 75 bucks, but that was with some parts as well...and they did a beautiful job of rebluing...

Had no idea it would be that inexpensive by having the co. do it. I figured, that like most things, it would be cheaper to have an outside shop do it. Which now I doubt.

Thanks for the info, BR. That is most likely the route I will go. I'll post photo when/if... Thanks again.
