Odd question from ebay potential bidder

I have a few items up on ebay and got a question from someone on one. "Do you prefer Paypal"? That's it. What an odd question. The auction states I'll take Paypal and checks.
This person has no feedback and has not bid on my items. I'm thinking they are fishing for a real email address so I was sure to reply to her via ebay.
Any thoughts?

Just a thought.
Its not an odd question....
I have asked if a seller prefers money orders or will they be alright with a check....and I havent bid on the item when I ask either....
fishing for a real email addy????? almost sounds a bit paranoid..
I don't think it is unusual. I asked this a couple times of ebay sellers myself. I wanted to know what would process the quickest for the seller.
Due to some deadbeat bidders (winners) that didn't pay, I've started using, in some of my auctions, the option of requiring the bidder to have a PayPal account before they can bid.
I saw where a fellow did this on an item which would have normally went for several hundred dollars more.
Ignore them. People who don't read the auction are ALWAYS the ones who are a total pain in the butt!

What's next contributing to brady?
So a bidder must have a Pay Pal account before they even bid? It will be a freaking 40 below in Florida before I ever open an account with an anti gun organization just to please some paranoid ebay seller...
A couple of deadbeat bidders is the cause of punishment to how many actual paying bidders?...
Any auction that states I must have a PayPal account LOSES my bid on that item and any future items they list and I dont give a tinkers damn how bad that item is needed or wanted....

Yes, set your payment preferences to "PayPal only". You can also go into your PayPal account and set "accept payment from confirmed addresses only" which has definitely reduced my deadbeat & fraudulent bidder count.
Some ebay sellers state that if a buyer has no feedback they must contact seller first and make arrangement for payment or their bid will be ignored.
BTW anyone live anywhere near Denton, NC? I've got a nonresponding ebay store seller that uses an address there,Got my payment and no shippee,no answer phonee. He printed out a ups label on the 17th for a item ordered on the 6th with a tracking # that when checked with UPS tracking states item hasn't been picked up for shipment at this date. Waited in case he was out of town or hunting or something but it's getting to be just a lil long now. Does anyone know if NC magistrate court requires a plaintive to be in court in person or can I just hire an Atty long distance? I figure I can get court costs and atty fees but not travel expenses. (actually collecting's another story)
I'm pretty easy to work with usually but I've already been conned into dropping the dispute with paypal because he called me and gave me a hard luck tale about his computer going down and now his acct was on hold and not being able to ship until the program would let him use it again. Sounded like an honest man to me and he had a 99.5 positive feedback (and about 150 of em at that) and had called me, so I decided to take him at his word. (first mistake) If I understand paypal rules right I now cannot reinstate the issue through paypal. I'm pretty sure that something ain't right. (duh) I'll make the trip up from Fl to the Davidson county seat and see if justice can be had in NC if I have to but it'ud be nice (and cheaper) if I didn't need to actually be in court. Probably he's counting on it being too much time and trouble for me to actually travel to file a claim against him over $250. (he's wrong! I'm retired and have the time to be a vengeful a-hole if I have to be)

My reasoning is this. If they won't communicate w/me to SELL the item. I wouldn't expect them to be of much help if a problem arose later.
And it gives an opportunity to kind of get a feel for who you may be doing business with.
Are they knowledgable about the item? (IE: can their descriptions be trusted). Are they evasive? Friendly, Etc.

This is likely the case. I'm often asked questions that are clearly spelled out in my auction text.
