Test drive on the new Harley

I remember why I like Harley's so much now. 72 degrees, sunshining and picked up my new bike with an hour or two before work time. Had a nice putt around the countryside. Kind of like the old three speeds better than these five speed trannys. The old days once you got into third gear you could leave it there until you stopped. With the five speed in town you have to do an awful lot of gear changing. Not used to riding without a windshield either. At around 58 mph it gets to be an effort to hang on when the wind is head on and gusting. Need to make a few adjustments to get the bike better fitted to me so I can do long trips comfortably, but all in all the Fatboy is a real nice ride. Picking up the wife's wide glide next week then we can do like we used to and vacation by bike.

My neighbor just bought one of those.. not a minute too soon either cause the dirt road by my house needs a good oiling. The dust keeps taking the shine off my 2001 Yamaha. [}:)][}:)][}:)]

Love the fatboy, great looking Harley. I went with the Delux since it had the lower seat height. Wife and I are off to Kaui for a Harley ride on the 18th.

I wanted to add: I had one of the popoff windshields installed. Its standard Harley, about $400, very strong and you can take it off when you want the bike to look cool!
