That is good news! I wonder what the count is of states passing that type of legislation. Florida was the first, I believe.

You'll be able to add Michigan to the list soon enough.

I'm from Oklahoma, and from my perspective the only people this law will really affect are residents of the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metro areas. Crime is already pretty low in the rural areas that make up most of our state. Why? We shoot back.

Bout damn time. Percentage wise, smaller towns now have a higher crime rate than Tulsa or Okla.City. Most is due to the ease of the people making thier own drugs to sell or use. My .02 cents worth.

Doesn't it seem kind of silly, that LAWS have to be passed that "allow" you to protect your family and self?
    Such is the 21st century.

You're right about the drug thing, ding. I used the general term "crime", when what I really meant was the sort of things that this law is designed to cover. It's extraordinarily rare to have face-to-face, I've-got-a-gun-you-don't carjacking/home invasion scenarios. That, I believe, is due to the common knowledge that we are well-armed. The sneaking-around, drug-related stuff where you don't know they've been there until they're gone is about like anywhere else.

Sorry to say, but its really a law to protect you against lawyers. They have to get paid from somewhere, so they are filing lawsuits with no upfront fees and hoping something will stick. Knowing most people can't aford to pay the cost of defense. Recent handgun magazine put that cost at $10,000 per day. Too many lawyers being pumped out of the law schools. Like sharks got to feed somewhere.
