New York City about to outlaw french-fries and dou

As you probably know, New York City's Mayor Bloomberg knows what's best for us. Now that he has straightened out the retail gun dealers in three states, he is going after the french-fries and doughnuts in New York City. With the assistance of the New York City Health Department, he is about to outlaw the use of trans fats in NYC restaurants. They'll still be allowed to make french-fries and doughnuts (and other good stuff), they just won't taste like french-fries and doughnuts (and other good stuff).

I'm thinking there might be a dollar to be made smuggling french-fries and doughnuts into New York City.
The road to hell is paved with COMPROMISE.

Does this mean that surrounding cities will have to ID customers making sure that they don't reside in New York City?
How are they going to prevent straw purchases?

Yes, it's true. However, crack is still ok as it's non-fattening. [xx(]

Not a Joke. I think I tend to agree with the city. Trans fat has been shown to be a major risk factor in heart disease. People will live longer and be healthier. My understanding is that they can also make the food tase good without transfat. Hell, the govt. put floride in the water so we dont look like the brits[:D],

I can see the upcoming headline... New Jersey retired Police Officer is up on charges... Smuggling dunkin' donuts across state lines. Confinscated were 3 jelly filled, two bismarks , and fourteen dozen bearclaws. Charges will include conspiracy to possibly commit murder and rape ( killing time and screwing the city ) by the NYC Police Officers involved.

The corruption will be staggering, if Dunkin donuts doesn't make their kickback payment on time someone will come around and break their crawlers.[V]

What are they going to do with the fat people in N.Y. who had trans-fat reserves in their love handles? are they now considered Outlaws or Fugitive from justice under the new law ?? quote:Originally posted by JamesRK

Everything will taste the same, they are just eliminating the lard and satuated fats. This is a good idea, whether or not it should be the government forcing the idea is a separate argument. Oh, and no more beef fat in the McDonalds french fry oil.

Walt Disney World tried to force feed vistors at the park turkey burgers and hotdogs instead of beef burgers and hotdogs.......

Maybe Mayor Bloomberg shoulda called them before he tried this crazy idea. The hue and cry was so loud from the public that they quickly changed their minds.

Mr Mayor, I can decide for myself what is good for me and my family. BTW: YOU are not good for the 2nd Amendment either......[:(!]

    They tell is what is bad for us;;

    smoking, fatty foods, etc.

But Dangit, the gov should not make laws about it.

For example; If queers want to do their thing in private, I say let em. Just don't bring it into public.

This is how it all starts. Like anti gun laws for the good guys.

What LEO will make an arrest? How would he be treated by the union?

THE MAN THAT BROUGHT DOWN KRSPY KREME WOULD MOST LIKELY BE A DEAD MAN.

Krspiy Kreme is the ckack cocane of the pastry world. If Bloomburg knowes what is good for him, he won't mess with the donuts.

"In 2001 the incumbent mayor, Rudy Giuliani, was ineligible for re-election, as New York limits the mayoralty to two terms. Several well-known New York City politicians aspired to succeed him. Bloomberg, a lifelong member of the Democratic Party, decided to run for mayor as a member of the Republican Party, reportedly to avoid the crowded field in the Democratic primary."

    Typical Democrat behavior. [:D]

I see some mis-information here. Trans-fats are those that are oils tht have been hydrogenated to solidify them. the type of fat that they started out as isn't particularly important. With regard to making french fries and doughnuts, they can be made well and taste even better with oils that contain no trans-fats. Butter, lard, and the liquid oils such as Olive, Peanut, Canola, and so on could be used as they do not contain trans-fats; so the field is pretty open on what they can use. While not using trans-fats, some of the options would be great for taste but the level of saturated fat would go through the roof in the Mcdonald's addicts diet.

Here in Los Angeles they have banned soft drinks from schools (among other things). I fear living in a world where the government thinks it has to protect you from yourself. This is the truest form of taking away someones civil liberties.

The ban will apply to everyone in New York except for Hillary. I'll move back to New York when they ban HER.

Here's a picture of her eating food loaded with trans-fat. I think she was practicing for a romantic evening out with Bill. [:0]
