ACLU has metal detectors in NY office

the aclu has metal detectors and conducts full searches on anyone trying to enter its NY office building. this is from the group that opposes any searches on anyone else. why does the aclu search people when they have no reasonable cause to believe they might be armed ? hmmm. hypocrites maybe ?
