A forearm across the throat doesn't really count as a punch, does it? I've been three years since I actually punched anybody, and I really don't think this should count.
Some people asked me to move this question from ask the experts.I was asking what was thought of the Colt 1991 A1.i got very few replies and they were all positive.I have seen other people ask about thoughts on different firearms and they got several pos. and neg. answers about the firearm.I posted the ? twice and got only a few answers all pos. Most any weapon has faults that someone doesnt like.Thats what I would like to hear.I am not looking for 100 answers just a small crossview.Maybe posters on this site like colts so much they wont say neg things about them. There has got to be something someone doesnt like about them and that could be a reason for me not to buy.
got a question on the sure shot bullets. I have a few that someone gave me for a 9mm. Basically just a little shotgun type of bullet (w/ little bb's in it) I haven't fired one through it because...well I just don't won't it to mess up my gun. Have any of you guys shot one through one of your guns?

Why does the US has so many bases out in the world? Germany, Japan, Greenland or is it Iceland, Korea (I understand. unfinished business) and others. Is it because of N.A.T.O.? If so why aren't there British bases in US? Or even a French base in California [:D]?
To me it basically reminds me of Roman days but globally. I just don't see the need to keep occupying places like in Okinawa. I mean Korea is just up a ways and there is a reason for being there.
So if someone would be kind to let me know why I'd be greatful [;)].
Yup. We missed a good chance with all the public rallies. It could have been great. Wait for the rallies to start. Then, ICE, local police and National Guard if need be, surround the group. Show us documentation or get on the bus.
We could have gotten several thousands of them in one fell swoop.
Denver has made it against the law for police officers to determine legal status of any suspect unless they are arrested for a felony. this is supposed to keep LEO's from profiling...

I'm in Houston,TX and didn't see too much of a difference. There were a lot of people with "questionable documentation" in the restaurants and stores today. I do absolutely agree that illegal is just that, and should be dealt with as such!
BTW- I was watching the NFL draft picks with a bunch of people and someone that is probably the most liberal type I have ever known shocked me with "the immigration problem is just like guns laws... if the laws in place were enforced this wouldn't be a problem and there wouldn't need to be any more new laws!".

Couple of home builders acting like bigshot tough guys said at the lunch line that "if any of them misses work today he won't have a job tomorrow!" I said a little too loud for politeness which I am not anyway,"They shouldn't have had a job in the first place!!" I actually got applause and the builders looked at me like they wished my forearms weren't as big as their thighs. I looked at them like I wished cops didn't eat in there.
I think the guys who are hiring these people need to be fined big time and maybe arrested for treason.

Fox urges Bush to speed immigration accord

By Laurence McQuillan and Mimi Hall, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON - Mexican President Vicente Fox challenged President Bush on Wednesday to reach an accord this year aimed at allowing millions of Mexicans to work legally in the United States and create "new conditions of fairness" in both countries. Speaking during a red-carpet arrival ceremony at the White House, Fox addressed a problem that has strained relations between the two nations, which share a 2,000-mile border.

"We must and we can reach an agreement on migration before the end of this very year," Fox said. Such a pact would be meant to reduce dangerous illegal crossings from Mexico and ease the burden on the United States, which provides education and other services to illegal immigrants who do not pay taxes. Fox also called for legal recognition for undocumented workers already in this country.
What's for dinner?
On the menu for Wednesday's state dinner for Mexican President Vicente Fox:
First course: Maryland crab and chorizo pozole, summer vegetables, Mi Sueno Chardonnay ''Carneros'' 1999.
Second course: Pepita (pumpkin seed) crusted bison, poblano whipped potatoes, fava bean and chanterelle ragout, apple chipotle sauce, Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon ''Hillside Select'' 1994.
Third course: Salad of gold and red tomatoes, mache and micro greens, sherry dressing.
Dessert: Mango and coconut ice cream dome, peaches, raspberries, red chile pepper sauce, tequila sabayon, Schramsberg ''Cremant'' 1997.
After the two leaders talked for about 90 minutes, White House national security adviser Condoleezza Rice emerged from the meeting to describe their discussion. She told reporters that Bush would like to nail down an agreement this year but stopped short of a deadline. "We were aware that President Fox had this objective," Rice said. "Indeed, we think that it would be terrific if we were able by the end of the year to achieve agreement."
She emphasized, however, that while Bush "shares the desire to do it quickly," he wants "to get it right." Privately, some administration officials said Fox's timetable caught them off-guard, and they would have preferred that he not state it publicly. They said it will be difficult to move immigration legislation through Congress quickly. Congressional Republicans generally want more limited changes. Democrats have called for expanding Bush's idea to other nationalities.
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, the senior Democrat on the House immigration subcommittee, said, "It is disappointing that both presidents think reform will take so long to broker." Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., head of the congressional immigration-reform caucus, said chances are slim that Congress will grant legal status to undocumented Mexicans. "It sends the wrong message," he said.
Fox wants a swift agreement so it can be approved by both countries and implemented while he and Bush are in their first terms. Bush's term expires in 2005, Fox's in 2006.
Bush said both nations "must work together in a spirit of respect and common purpose" on immigration, illegal drugs and environmental protection. "The United States has no more important relationship in the world than the one we have with Mexico."
Experts estimate that at least 3 million Mexicans are now working illegally in the USA, most in low-paying jobs. Bush has endorsed extending legal status to at least some Mexicans and other illegal immigrants who are working and paying taxes in the USA. But he has not defined the conditions under which they would receive permanent residency or said whether they would become citizens.
This morning, Fox is scheduled to become the first Mexican leader in a decade to address a joint session of Congress. He then flies with Bush to Toledo, Ohio, for a midday visit with Mexican-Americans living there. They will then return to Washington for a small dinner hosted by Fox.

BDJ...I'm finding that my construction company is getting far less competitive in my pricing b/c I refuse to hire illegals. Everybody else is doing it and underbidding the true American companies. If something is not done about it, it's going to put most of us out of business. I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly!
There is a place here in Columbia where construction workers meet to get picked up to do work. I haven't seen a white worker there for months and months. Wonder why? Low wages to compete? Or just too lazy to work to support their families? If the construction owners need work just who do you think they will hire if only Mexicans are available? Just a food for thought just think if the auto industry did this... Cars wouldn't be $30,000 each and workers wouldn't be making $30 bucks an hour.
Let's see ... $7/Hr. - under the table - no need to pay taxes-
no need to report income - no overtime pay - much of the
US $$$ leaves the country - if their kids ARE here, YOU get to
support them - higher school taxes, same ole, same ole![:D]

Americans cannot live on the wages that companies pay illegals. The illegals live in houses of 40-50 immigrants and in third world conditions. Americans cannot support their families on what these criminals will work for. The only reason you do not see more Americans in the construction industry anymore is b/c of greed for the almighty dollar. Too many companies violate the law and have no conscience or moral obligation to their fellow Americans or country anymore. Herin lies the problem.

Tens of millions of americans live on minimum wage, which in most cases is less than the wages illegals are willing to work for. It isnt that americans cant live on 8 bucks an hour working construction, it is that they would rather take an easy job and just flip burgers for 5.15. The illegal aliens wouldnt have so many possible jobs If americans were more willing to do a hard days work without thinking that they deserve a 6 figure a year salary in return.

And into whose pocket is the differential in wages going to--the American buyer of the home or the builder?
So, it's not a question of the American worker refusing to work, it's a matter of an ILLEGAL person taking the job and the greedy building making money off the back of the Americans.
Solving the problem is easy--put all employers who employ illegal alients into jail--6 months for each illegal. We'd see a lot of job opportuities, with decent pay, opening up real fast.

Denver has made it against the law for police officers to determine legal status of any suspect unless they are arrested for a felony. this is supposed to keep LEO's from profiling...
You have to understand the makeup of Denver to understand that logic. Denver is one of four liberal bastions of the state, along with Boulder, Telluride and Aspen. The rest of the state is decidedly conservative, including the Denver suburbs.
In Denver, Republicans don't run for Mayor, because there's no point. If you're not a liberal Democrat, you don't stand a chance.
In Denver (US House District I), Republicans will run for the House but in every instance since I've lived here (that's going back to 1986), it has been a sheep led to slaughter. Candidates are not given any money from the RNC and most conservatives in the area just shake their heads.
You'll find most conservatives who enjoy Denver do it from the suburbs, because we receive ZERO representation otherwise.
Denver is the only city in the state that I'm aware of that has an AWB, and that AWB is broadly defined. I have informed my wife that, under no circumstances whatsoever can we live in Denver or, if we run a business, can the business be located in Denver, because I am unwilling to give up my firearms.
And, yes, Denver does have a law against allowing LEOs to inquire as to a legal status unless a felony has been committed.
FWIW, presenting a government ID (driver's license, etc.) if you're caught for a misdemenor or even a traffic violation should be routine, and the LEO should be checking to ensure that the paperwork is authentic.
I don't think that a LEO should be able to demand papers for the sake of demanding papers. There should be probable cause, just like in any other situation.

But I posted and answer to jpwolf's post.
He states that homosexuality is learned, a choice or lifestyle, if you will, and that it can be "unlearned".
I say it is inate, you are born gay, and that's that. You can't change that fact.
waht do YOU think
Please, leave the Bible verses and the religion bashing at the door, I just want a simple answer, so this will not get locked or poofed.

The illegal aliens wouldnt have so many possible jobs If americans were more willing to do a hard days work without thinking that they deserve a 6 figure a year salary in return.
