Sheesh... another Columbine?

"Metro Denver" has yet another high school situation. Check out http://www.9news.com. This one is up in Bailey, about 45 minutes outside of Denver.

Looks like a lot of kids are being released, but there's a hostage situation with a gunman who also claims he's got bombs in the school.

    It is now over.

One female hostage is critically wounded. One of the bombs went off, the gunman is in custody. No info on the second girl.

    This is horrible.

I've got the director of Centennial Mental Health here in Sterling lined up as Friday morning's guest. If the gunman turns out to be a student, we'll devote Friday's show to what the HELL is going on in student's minds.
    It's absolutely horrible.

You're a radio talk show host? What station? What time?

Oh, joy. We have a Democrat-controlled legislature and it appears as if we're getting a Democrat governor, because Beauprez is an idiot.

I can just see what's coming down the pike after this... exactly what the Dems wanted after Columbine but couldn't get because the GOP wouldn't let them back then.

Actually, more of a happy-crappy Morning Mayhem host, but it's a small market (Sterling, CO), so I wear the public service hats as well. When something like this comes up, I have to be able to interview serious guests about serious topics. I'm on from 6A-10A and no, we don't web-stream. You can thank ASCAP and BMI's exorbitant demands for that. The station is 105.7, KPMX. You can find out a little more about us at the Colorado Broadcast Association's website. Our own website is woefully out-of-date. (Since the tech hat don't fit me).

They've not made an "official" announcement yet, but it appears as if the girl has died.

    How sad. [:(]

This has hit me with incredible force. I'm actually sitting here with tears in my eyes, watching Channel Nine. Dear God.

    Yeah, me too.

Back when Columbine happened, it was literally in my back yard. That was very tough. When the Subway shooting happened a few months later, that was still in my back yard.

I just can't believe this has happened here again. If there's going to be a silver cloud under this, there's a single victim. That's not very comforting, though.

Yeah, I was on the air when Columbine happened, so we covered it as best we could. I guess I'll just hold my little girl when my wife gets her home, keep an eye on the news and put on my "serious journalist" face for Friday. At least I have the luxury of distance working for me, but Sterling is a lot like Bailey, CO. It's not like it can't happen anywhere. Thanks for listening.

She's at St. Anthony's and they're still saying she's critically injured, not dead. But, 9News is saying that due to HIPAA, they can't even give information if they wanted to without the parents' consent, and the parents are not giving consent.

How long before the Lefties start weeping and wailing about the need for more gun control laws? Wanna bet it's before any bodies are even cold? didn't think so.

That's why I said this earlier:
