How do I do an e-mail merge using a .csv file?

I've never tried doing a mail merge before. I've been doing a search on Google and haven't come up with clear directions to do this. So, I am hoping someone here can help.
What I have is a large list of people who will be attending a trade show next month. I want to send out an e-mail blast to them without having to input the addresses manually. The data will be in a .csv file format. It will have name, job title, address, phone number, fax # and e-mail address.
At the very least, I'd like to have the email address import into Outlook. But, it might be nice to have the name of the person appear in the email as well.

If you don't have office, there is a way of doing it with OpenOffice (free, Free, from openoffice.org) as well.
I think I'll have to set up a special address folder in outlook because I don't want 7000 names going into my "regular" email address book.
