700R4 trans problems

Any transmission DR.'s in the house? i have a 700 r4 in a 89 chevy
s-10 4x4 the trans is hard to shift from 1st to 2nd gear, i normally have to get up to 30-35 mph to shift, i adjusted the TV cable to lower my shift points but it didnt help 1st at all, the other gears did lower like they were supposed to.i've changed the fluid and filter and nothing changed, there is no slipping and the fan clutch is good... any help?

    check all your vacumn lines under the hood. If you have a vacumn leak any where it could cause it to shift funky. If you have a non-chain parts store close by give them a call. Usually they have salespeople with a good knowledge of things like that and the common cure for them. Good luck.
