I'll be sitting on lake Okeechobee drinking a cold beer and trying to land a big one. This cold weather sucks and I see now why my mom and pops heads to Florida every winter. I already got the house sitter lined up, informed the hired help that we will be closed that week, airline tickets paid for, and a rental car reserved. Next Sunday morning can't get here quick enough for the wife and I.
Since we are flying into Orlando, the Mrs. asks that she gets to visit Disney World on the last day. I'll probably cave in and take her there for a few hours.

It's been cool here.(I live 15 Mi.E of the BIG LAKE)
The main lake will not be your best bet,the water is cold.
Fish the rim canal and the shallows, very slowly using worms or slow roll crank baits near the bottom.
    Good Luck!!!!

Congrats to you both, enjoy yourselves.

Disney World: many years ago I had agreed to and conceeded a promise to my Lady friend, ( and present new bride ) to go there for an extended and thorough visit.

I finally caved in! Actually she was so darn patient about it, and sooo decent about it, that I had finally painted myself into a corner ... and figured the only way to maintain any self respect was to do it.

I just relaxed and managed easily to enjoy the whole experience. You can survive the experience ... really, you can! I'd encourage a solid day after an early "stick-to-your-ribs breakfast" and getting through the gate early and knowing you all's game plan for the day.

The evening fireworks are very nice.

PS: The time for planning out Disney is no later than the PM prior to going through the gates!

Pops' place is right on a canal. If I untie the boat and drift 20 feet from shore, I'll be happy. [:D][:D]

Enjoy the trip it is low 70s here in Tampa today and supposed to warm up during the week. Just had a full moon last week so it will probaly be the next full moon when they spawn on Big-o.

I will be heading around the NE side of big-o next Saturday as the NHRA guys are having a "Warm-UP at PBIR (Palm Beach International Raceway) on Fri and Sat. Looking forward to a little Nitro racing on Saturday evening.

My plane doesn't land in Orlando til 1:45 on the 22nd. And we have to be in Okeechobee by 5:00 for a fish fry. I would love to hit that gun show but there just isn't time. I really appreciate the offer though. If there are any delays at the rental car counter, we will be late for supper.[:D]
