Id like to get my daughter her first car and we have narrowed the choice down to one of these. Any experience for the gunbroker community with either of these vehicles ?

We have an 07 G6 convertible. We've had it for almost 2 years and are very pleased with it.[:D]

    Well they got a 07 Cobalt 13000 miles for 9999 and a 06 G6 with 26000 miles for $10,999. Cant beat the price ..

brother has a G6, I've been driving it around quite a bit during all of the recent moves and stuff. Great car.

Oh yeah, G6 was perfectly comfortable over a 16 hr. marathon drive from Manhattan KS to Auburn AL. I doubt I would have survived that trip in a Jap econobox [;)]

A two year old Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla will outlast either of the two American cars. But...the Honda or Toyota will cost more up front.

Thats apples to oranges. The Pontiac G5 is the rebadged Cobalt. The G6 is going to be a much nicer car than the Cobalt. My mother had a cobalt as a loaner, it was a piece of junk. The engine had decent power, but it was loud, unrefined, and the interior's plastics were on par with a milk carton.

If you just want a decent solid newer car, look at a 2006 or 2007 fleet return Ford Taurus. I bought an '06 with 27,000 miles on it last year and I've put nearly 20,000 on since and it hasn't given me a lick of trouble. At 70 mpg it gets 26 mpg, at 55 it'll get 32. A very nice basic car.

That's kinda funny considering that my '93 F150, '06 Taurus, and the '00 Explorer that the Taurus replaced made multiple trips each between ND and WI in the past two years with out any break downs or repairs other than routine maintenance. To tell you the truth, I've had more headaches with the GMs I use to own.

Survey says: Which of the two come with 2.99 gas for the next 3 years?

    Neither.
