Two Types of Political Lies

For years we've dealt with lies that are unkept promises During the campaign a candidate promises to balance the budget, reduce taxes or whatnot; then when elected finds that he is unable to do so. Additionally there are those vague press releases that are ambiguous because the press can no longer be trusted to not print some information until the security of the country and it's citizens is no longer in jeopardy. I can understand and tolerate these "lies";
BUT, I am really tired of politicians that make statements that are complete fabrications, with no basis in truth and have no other purpose than to divert or delay the consequences of some action/in action.
I'd be inclined to vote for just about anyone if whatever their policies were, they just said so and would not stab me in the back when the opportunity arose.
