this :

"There is a report today in the local newspaper that a criminal gang has been staking out two local gun ranges and then following home people who shoot there and robbing their homes sometime later. The police wont confirm or deny this as I assume they are doing surveillance trying to catch the people involved. The news paper reports at least 10 people have had their homes robbed with over 30 guns being taken. The tie in seems to be that half of the people robbed were regulars at a particular indoor gun range.
They also said there were hints of an inside job.
Dang, now I am scared as I had shot there a few times."

where is this happening?!?! i can't find the original thread.

Staking out and following conjures up images of a guy with binoculars in a car parked nearby. More likely this involves a fellow shooter on the line or even an employee. Don't forget, if you have to sign up with a driver's license you're supplying your home address.

Fellow shooter or employee, it's usually not hard to get people at a range to tell you all about other guns they have. Let's be careful out there.

Similar, but different. Once here on election day there were some guys watching the polling place. Almost all the local people would go to vote as a couple and the burglar watching would radio a message to his partners who was voting and it would give them several minutes to rob a house. They got several places that day.

Another similar case. A neighbor lady was shopping in Macy's, she went to the restroom and placed her purse on the floor. Someone reached under the stall and stole her purse. A couple of days later Macys called and said they had her purse and did she want to come in and claim it? She went in right then and Macys told her they had never called her. She went home, approximately 30 miles, and found her house had been burgled. The thieves had her keys and her address.

Several years ago Kansas had a problem when the ladies went to the bathroom on the interstates and put their purses on the floor and they would be stolen. I never did hear who or how they caught them but it stopped but still be careful.[:(!][V][xx(][:(]
