Why Children Should be Breast Fed!!

My 15 year old son was nursed for almost two years. Thursday evening he started getting sick with the flu. This is the first time he has ever had the flu. Mom gave that boy a real good immune system!!

Uri has had an attitude adjustment. He thought that the kids who got the flu were the lucky ones because they got to stay home from school and watch TV, play video games, etc. Uri had no idea they stayed home because they felt like poop!![:D]

How can you tell which kids belong to Dolly Parton?

They have stretch marks on their cheeks.[:D][:p]

My experience with my own son changed my perceptions on breastfeeding, which I had never seen as a big deal.

He was breastfed for the first 9 months or so....my wife couldn't continue because her milk soured for an unexplained reason.

In those nine months, he was literally never sick. After the switch, he started developing colds, ear infections, etc. He's never been a sickly kid, but there was a noticable change between breastmilk and formula.

Kind of a narrow test base to make such a general statement.

Just a question did you let him grow up as a boy. Out playing in the dirt, handling animals such as chickens snakes and lizards.

100% All American boy. By the time he was 5 Uri had been sewed up twice, in the ER for various injuries and has fallen out of every good climbing tree in the neighborhood. Barefoot was his normal footwear, getting shoes on him to start school was a chore. But in his defense, he has only fallen off the garage once.[:D]

Feeding babies, it's what the breast was designed to do. Whether one believes in evolution, God's Good Works or both, why deny countless generations of proof that "Oh, so that's what them things are for!?"

Sometimes things still go wrong. So then it's either the old fashioned Wet Nurse or it's baby formula. Or donated breast milk delivered by bottle, I've heard of that too.

On one of Uri's ER visits I was answering the Dr.s questions, basically saying no repeatedly. No he hasn't had that, no he hasn't had this, until the Dr. started getting pissy with me, saying I needed to have his mother come in so he could get the correct info on his forms/records. Uri was around 6 on that ER visit. (Drove a metal stake into his barefoot foot by leaping a ditch and landing on it.) I told him he has never had any kind of illness. The Dr. said that is impossible. That is when I said his Mom nursed him until 1 week before his second birthday. The Dr. looked at me and said "Oh, now I'll buy what you're telling me. I would see far fewer children if they were all nursed for at least a year."

Think That may have had more to do with it than the Breast milk. Kids are too protected these days so it does not take much to make them sick. As a kid whoever heard of getting sick from going to a petting zoo. now they have those hand wipe every where so you can stay clean.

The only time I had the Actual full blown sick as a dog flu was the 1st year they did the flu shot in the military. The one with the live virus.

figured formula was just another item made in chinee...no inspection required....but i figured it had enough antifreeze in it ...most kids don't mind winters cold

Why Children Should be Breast Fed!!

    1. Good for the baby
    2. Good for the mom
    3. Much more fun to wash the bottles!

Sadly, Jeff was a bottle baby. Mom just wanted to be friends!
It's too late for me, save yourself.

    dreher,

Honestly I was a bit shocked when I first read "My 15 year old son was nursed for almost".

Thankfully I kept reading, and you explained it further...Lol[:D][:D][:D]

Too late for me I was bottle fed,
is there any case studies of acquiring the immunity later on in life?

I'm very rarely sick but did date a lot of healthy women in my younger days

Are youngest was breast feed up till about 7 months until his moms milk supply dried up. He was never sick until he went to just formula. We even had the flu. Everyone but the baby got it. His mom had it first and the doc said the anti bodies from her breast milk is what kept him from getting the flu.
