1.6 GALLON FLUSH VIOLATES OUR RIGHTS!

kyplumberkyplumber Member Posts: 11,111
edited July 2008 in General Discussion
It is true, the mandated 1.6 gallon per flush is a violation of your right to be free and make your own choices!!!!!!

I am a plumber and can tell you that 60% of the low flush model toilets are junk! I am also a union pipeliner, I have helped water up 2.8 miles of 24" pipe from a fire hydrant with the help of two honda trash pumps. What did we do with the potable water when we were done? we pushed it in to the storm sewer at 160PSI. Money talks and bullsnot walks if a man wants to flush his turd in ten gallons of water then he should be able to as long as his utility bill is paid.

on a side not you can usually tweak your low cap flush toilet to use approx two gallons by adjusting the float set screw or removing it completely. if you have an old 3 gallon flush toilet and wish to save a little money set a brick or two in your tank.

I could not agree more. The gov't has absolutely NO FRIGGIN' business regulating what kind of toilets we can buy.

    agree completely,
not too mention that in many cases the "low flush" toilets require two (or more) flushes. So even at 2 you are using 3.2 gallons of water, which is more than the 3 gallon model.

If King of the Hill has taught me nothing else, and it hasn't, it shows that low flow toilets use more water than the regular hi flows.

If there is one thing I have learned from my union brothers, that is to only crap on company time, so I don't care what the flush is at home[}:)][:0]

most likely a pressured bladder if it is a tank type. Kohler has a an AWESOME toilet I forget the name of it but they had one in the extended stay I was at in detroit a couple of years ago, man that thing would push a whole roll of TP down it and not even burp.

I miss the old public restroom toilets that flushed with so much pressure it negated the need for a double-flush.

I dont know who made the remark about, "people here say 1.6 gals a violation of rights" I just expanded on it because it is a violation of free choice. And I think it was P3Skyking who made the remark.

But yes it is a violation of free choice, you have NO IDEA the water that gets wasted everyday! I have seen a couple million gallons of potable water dumped in a storm drain, all in the name of oil.

Problem? You are talking to a bunch of guys on a web site where members have actually posted about feeling that low flush toilets infringe on their rights as Americans!

I am as anti-big government a person as you will ever meet. I want them out of my life. I want them out of my State, I want them out of my car, out of my bank account and off my lawn. I want them on a big ol' leash.

I am knee deep in governmental caca daily, maybe not literally like yourself, but caca just the same.

Ron Paul is the only candidate who really seems to want to do the hard things that can turn this country around.

I think the low flow toilet mandate legislation comes from the July, 1992 National Energy Policy Act. If only George Bush (the elder) would have vetoed the legislation we would still be free to give a mightly flush! He gave the Dems in Congress The American's With Disabilites Act, a tax hike ("read my lips"), an assualt weapons ban and 1.6 gallons per flush!

CA has gotten wise to that. You can still remove the aerator but there seems to be another restrictor plate in the sealed part of the shower head.

I found a Crane vacuum assist 1.6g toilet that actually works better then any 3 gal I've ever seen. It sounds like yuou just opened a portal to another dimension when you flush the beast, but damn does it eat up a load of chit.

Hey, maybe one day we will have vacuum toilets like on the space shuttle. No water, just pure horsepower shop vac ;) Why flush a few gallons when you can burn up some amps!

I find the automatic flush valves a waste of water. Not the ones on the urinals but behind the stools. I was camping a couple weeks ago and they had them installed in the bathrooms there. This thing flushed 3 times underneath me before I got the * gasket in place, sitting down with the bombay doors open ready to go! Then after I was finished it didnt flush! I had to flush it manually any way. I'm not going to claim to know how many gallons of water I went through, but I'm thinking it was more than necessary.
